6 months

**I wrote this and meant to post it this past Thursday on Evan's 6th month birthday.

Dear Evan,

You are six months old today.  That's half a year.  I cannot believe that half a year has flown by already.  I feel like your Dad and I were just taking you home from the hospital.  Here is what you have been up to this month.

Eat:

This was a big month in the food department.  You have officially started eating real food!  We have given you avocado, sweet potatoes, prunes (because you were constipated), green beans, and peas.  So far you have eaten anything that we have put in front of you.  I guess you got your dad's appetite!  You are still nursing in the morning before you go to your babysitter's, and you usually have 3 bottles during the day.  I will nurse you once or twice after 4:00pm and you have a 6oz bottle before bedtime.  We have completely cut out rice cereal from your diet.

Sleep:

Your sleep habits were off for a bit after we stopped giving you the rice cereal, but now they are back to normal (I'm totally jinxing myself by typing that.)  You go to sleep around 7:30 or 8pm each night and wake around 5am to eat.  We then let you sleep in our bed for about an hour or so until it is time to get up for the day.  you take anywhere from 2-4 naps during the day until it is time to go to bed again!  

Sizes:

You wear anything from 6-12 month clothes, it just depends on the brand.  When we put you in disposable diapers (you are mainly in cloth) you wear a size 2.

Weight: 15lb 6oz (11%)
Height: 26 1/4 in (37%)

Likes:

• bath time (splashing!!!)
• grabbing people's faces
• flying through the air
• scooting in your walker
• rolling all over to get your toys
• jumperoo
• sleeping with your lovey
• being tickled
• riding in your stroller
• grabbing Joey
• swinging on the baby swings

Dislikes:

• loud noises (like the blender)
• not getting what you want right away
• putting clothes on

Firsts:

This month you enjoyed your first football games!  We went to 2 Melissa HS football games.  You didn't mind the first game, but you were so unhappy at the second game.

We went to the park this month and you went on the swings for the first time.  You LOVED it!!  I see a lot of park visits in our future.

While at the park we went down the slide together for the first time. You didn't react much to that experience.  Maybe you will enjoy it more a little later on in life.

You are now transferring objects from one hand to another.

You are obsessed with Joey!  If he is around then you are reaching out for him.  You have successfully grabbed his beard, ears, eyebrows, and tongue.  He seems to be dealing with your admiration pretty well.

Oh Evan we love and adore you so much!  We cannot wait to see what the next 6 months holds!!
