Thanksgiving Break - Part 2

Our last stop on our Thanksgiving trek was to visit Matt's family in Temple.  We had to cut the trip a little short because Matt had to be back for the playoff football game on Friday afternoon.  We got to spend Thanksgiving day at his house and the weather was absolutely gorgeous!  I took some pictures outside of his family with our little boy.

Mema spent the entire time loving on our handsome Evan.

When we got home we immediately kicked it into Christmas gear!  Matt was in charge of the outdoors, and I was tackling the indoors.  We took some quick pictures of Evan in front of the tree.  I hope to get some better ones in a few days.

Our beautiful tree all lit up at night...

Matt worked hard to decorate our home for the holidays.

After spending 9 days with family and friends, we have a LOT to be thankful for!

Thanksgiving Break - Part 1

*Our Thanksgiving break was so fun that it will be published in a 2 part series. The first part will cover our Louisiana and Houston section of the trip.

Matt and I were very lucky to have a full 9 days off for Thanksgiving (including the weekends).  The long break was overdue and very much needed.  We decided to do all of our traveling over Thanksgiving so we can relax at home at Christmas.

Our trek started off in Louisiana so Evan could finally meet his great-grandparents from my side of the family.  My Grandma Winston had him smiling all day long!

We had to take the obligatory pictures on the front porch of my Grandparents' house.  It's a tradition of sorts.

Grandma and Pappadeaux

We went to visit my Grandma Flores one afternoon.  Evan was a little fussy because he wouldn't nap.  I, on the other hand, took a nice long nap.

My Grandma Flores just adored Evan.

We spent the next few days in Houston.  Matt and I enjoyed a date night and my parents enjoyed some quality time with their favorite (and only) grandson.

Those eyes!

Evan decided he wanted to start holding his own bottle while we were in Houston.

Brotherly Love
We loved the beautiful weather and amazing time with our family.  It was the perfect start to our Thanksgiving break.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of our long vacation!

7 Months

Note: I wrote this post and took the pictures the day before Evan turned 7 months old (on Nov. 4).  Oops.

Oh my, how did this happen already?  Evan, you were supposed to stay 6 months for a good long time.  That way I can still consider you only half a year old.  Now you are much closer to 1 year than birth.  Son, you are growing too fast!

Eat

Your eating schedule is pretty much the same except that you are eating twice a day instead of just once.   You wake up anywhere from 5:00am to 6:30 to eat and go to the babysitter.  You usually have 2-3 bottles during the day and a few ounces of solid food.  You then come home and nurse once and have your second round of solid food.  You take a 6 ounce bottle at night.

Foods you have tried so far include: green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, squash, apples, pears, bananas, and prunes.

Sleep

Your sleep habits have not changed much since last month.  You grace us with sleeping through the night about 4 nights a week.  I consider sleeping until 5am as sleeping through the night.  Oh how my perception has changed after you came into our life!

Sizes

You are starting to grow out of your 6 month clothes and you mostly wear 9-12 month clothes these days. You are still in a size 2 diaper.

The Nanny Chronicles

I am very lucky to have a babysitter who sends me pictures of Evan throughout my day at work.  I call these...the Nanny Chronicles.  Enjoy!
