Friends!

This past weekend we had our good friends, The Haberers come visit us for the first time.

We took them to the Homecoming football game on Friday night.  Their 3-year old daughter, Emma, could not get enough of the marching band!  Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera, so the only picture I have is one of Evan after he fell asleep in the baby carrier.

On Saturday we went walking around downtown McKinney and I took pictures of Emma.  She was a great sport and it gave me an opportunity to try out my new camera lens more.  I love it so much!

After a few naps we went to the same pumpkin patch that Matt and I visited the weekend before.  This time I did NOT forget my SD card and I was able to take so many adorable pictures of our little ones!

Emma enjoyed the petting zoo, and the babies enjoyed the sights.

I was intent on making smores for Emma on Saturday night even though it was 80 degrees outside.  I convinced Matt let us light a fire and we enjoyed some delicious smores!

On Sunday the boys went golfing and we took the babies and Emma to the park for some play time.

At one point during the weekend Matt and I had a conversation about how our idea of fun has changed since we have become parents.  Pumpkin patches? Fun!  Parks? Fun! Repeating the words "mama" and "dada" over and over? Fun! I am so excited to see how our idea of fun continues to evolve as Evan grows.

Family Time

Before I take a look back on our family visit and share all of my pictures (I was camera happy!), I have to share about Evan's 6 month growth spurt...

Oh.
My.
Goodness.

I don't know if this particular growth spurt is worse than the others or if I am just out of my mind from no sleep, but this is bad.  He is waking up way too much and is choosing to let his presence be known by screaming.  We hear you son. We. Hear. You.

Onto other news...I bought a new camera lens that I have been dying to get.  It came a week earlier than I expected and I absolutely love it.  I am still learning all about my dslr camera and how to shoot pictures in manual mode.  I would love to become really great at it and have the opportunity to take beautiful pictures of Evan and future children!

Matt's parents came in town last weekend and spent time with our growing boy...

This baby was tired!

Nana and Poppi

It was the first time that the temperature took a nice dip into the 50s so we had to pull out the long sleeves and jackets!

I have been DYING to go to the pumpkin patch but due to the chilly weather, we settled on our first fire in our fireplace and roasting smores.  It was perfection.

Unfortunately the weather jumped back up the the 80s a few days later.  Here's to hoping we can use our fireplace again soon.

Until then, I'll just love on these two...

72 Hours

That's how long my weekend was!  Every year we have a day off dedicated to attend the State fair.  Of course I didn't attend the fair this year, but we did enjoy our Monday off.

This weekend we enjoyed...

...a rainy Friday night in.  Complete with a movie with the hubs...

...football watching on Saturday.  Bonus: the Aggies won!!!

...reconnecting with an old friend.

tired baby on a Saturday night

...dessert at one of my favorite places in Fairview.

...we had beautiful weather on Monday so Tracy and I took our boys out to the park.

...Evan went on the swing for the first time!!

We enjoyed our wonderful 72 hours with our sweet boy!
