Weekend

Little Moments Like This

I am linking up with Tami for another Weekend Rewind!

On Friday night Matt watched Evan so I could get together with two of my friends, Lisa and Hillary.  We went to Painting with a Twist and it was a blast!  We are no professional artists by any means, but I think our work turned out well.

Our paintings

On Saturday morning my friends Hillary and Wendy came over to show Evan some love while I went to his baptism preparation class and while Matt judged a band contest.  The rest of the afternoon was pretty laid back.  Evan and I napped and lounged around until Matt came home.  We ended the night with a family of 3 watching movies in bed.  Not your typical cinco de mayo, but muy fantastico nonetheless.

On Sunday we slept in and I enjoyed my usual morning cup of coffee while meal planning for the week.  I used to meal plan for us every Sunday morning and somehow got away from that routine.  I'm now starting it back up because it helps us be much more prepared during the week.

Sunday is actually a first for Evan because he smiled for the first time on purpose!!  He smiles in his sleep all the time, but this time it was in response to both Matt and I.  It happened twice and we have yet to see that cute smile since.  Hopefully it will come out again very soon!

Joey enjoys his lazy Saturday

We were supposed to go to church (our first time since Evan arrived) but our family's afternoon nap lasted longer than planned.  We woke up with just enough time to run out the door pre-baby.  Now that baby is here, it takes a LOT longer to get places.  Instead we decided to grab a bite to eat at Mooyah burger and go by the house we are building.  They have installed the tile and fireplace in our home.  We LOVE it!

I should have taken more pictures this weekend.  I plan to learn more about my digital camera while I'm off of work with Evan.  I'll leave you with this smiling, sleepy boy.  Hope your weekend was wonderful!

Hi Allison! THanks for stopping by my blog :) Evan is so so precious!!
I have always wanted to do one of those painting places but there are none around here unfortunately.
Anyway to answer your questions, making your baby's food is so easy! I use a steamer to cook the food and a baby bullet, but only because I got it for Christmas. You could use a blender or food processor and you could boil or bake most of the foods. Then you just blend them up into a puree! I make a bunch at one time then freeze them into ice cube trays-one cube is 1 oz :) Super simple! It saves a lot of money and doesn't take me much time at all and I love knowing exactly what Callyn is eating!
We do still love our stroller/car seat. Callyn is almost too long for the car seat so we'll be getting another one soon, but we've loved it so fun! Awesome that you guys have the same one :)
Do you know how to set up your comments to your email address? That way people can reply to you via email!

Aww that photo is adorable!

I've been hearing a lot about these painting places recently and they sound really fun. I've never heard of anything similar near us though :)
